Acceptance of terms
By creating an account or using FamilyHatch, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service. FamilyHatch is currently in private beta and is provided as-is — features may change, be added, or be removed without notice.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, to create a FamilyHatch account. You may add minor children to your household as "People" inside the app, but you do so as the responsible adult for that household.
Your account
- You are responsible for keeping your login credentials safe.
- You must provide a working email address that you control.
- You are responsible for the activity that occurs under your account, including invitations you send to other household members.
- Notify us at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use FamilyHatch to harass, threaten, or harm anyone.
- Upload illegal, infringing, or malicious content.
- Attempt to break, probe, or interfere with the service or its security.
- Use automated tools to access the service except as we explicitly permit.
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute the service.
Beta service
FamilyHatch is in active development. The service may be unavailable, slow, buggy, or subject to data loss during the beta period. We strongly recommend keeping any irreplaceable information outside the app.
We may add, change, or remove features at any time. We may also end the beta or change the pricing model when the app graduates to general availability; we'll give reasonable notice before any change that affects you materially.
Subscriptions and payments
FamilyHatch may offer paid features in the future. During the closed beta, the service is offered at no cost. If we introduce subscriptions, the terms of those subscriptions — including price, renewal cycle, and cancellation rules — will be presented in the app and processed through Apple's in-app purchase system, governed by the Apple Media Services Terms.
Your content
You keep ownership of the content you put into FamilyHatch — your meals, chores, calendar events, household setup, and so on. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to host, transmit, and display that content solely so we can operate the service for you and your household.
Termination
You can stop using FamilyHatch and request account deletion at any time by writing to [email protected]. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that put the service or other users at risk. On termination we will delete your account data per the schedule described in our Privacy Policy.
Disclaimers
FAMILYHATCH IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.
Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, FAMILYHATCH AND ITS DEVELOPER WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATED TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE, OR USD $20, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
Apple-specific terms
FamilyHatch is distributed via Apple's TestFlight and (eventually) the App Store. You acknowledge that Apple is not a party to these Terms and is not responsible for the app or its content. In the event of any conflict between these Terms and Apple's Media Services Terms, Apple's Terms govern your use of the App Store.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms as the product evolves. Material changes will be announced in the app and by email. The "Effective" date above reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the service after a change means you accept the new Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the service will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in North Carolina, unless otherwise required by applicable consumer-protection law.
